Wayne Slay, Senior Pastor

Wayne Slay has been the Pastor of First Baptist Josephine since September 2023. He brings with him over 50 years of experience serving the local church. Wayne has been married to Linda Slay for over 42 years. They have 3 grown children and 9 grandchildren. Wayne and Linda are the Authors of the Book #Marriagetakeswork, a 6 Week Journey to Reconnecting With Your Spouse. They have led mission trips to several countries as well as several states. Wayne has a heart for marriage and families and wants to see FBC Josephine become a church that reaches families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He enjoys hunting and golf, is an avid walker, and sometimes jogs if the conditions are right. Wayne graduated from Dallas Baptist University in 1979 and Southwest Theological Seminary in 1982. He is also a certified Mental Health Coach through the AACC as well as extensive studies in Marriage and family ministry.

Randy Hargrave, volunteer Youth Minister for First Baptist Church of Josephine, has served at his position for over 40 years.  Being a lifetime member of FBC Josephine, he has helped guide lives all over the world by introducing Christ and confirming his promises.  Past youth members, who now have families of their own, still utilize Randy’s guidance and wisdom for their lives.

Rachel Snyder, Children’s Minister

Rachel Snyder is the Children’s Minister at First Baptist Church in Josephine, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in children's ministry. Passionate about teaching, discipleship, and building strong volunteer teams, she holds a degree in Elementary Education from Pensacola Christian College (2006). Rachel loves creating environments where kids feel loved and excited to learn about Jesus, and enjoys equipping volunteers and partnering with parents to help children grow in their faith. Married for over 15 years and a mom of four, her family life deeply influences her ministry, allowing her to connect with and encourage other families. She strives to serve with a warm, Christ-centered heart, helping every child experience God’s love.
